Last year, more than 500 famlies were sponsored through our Adopt A Family program. Local Salvation Army facilities and dozens of local agencies and schools refer families and seniors for consideration to receive the benefits of Adopt-A-Family. Families and seniors are paired with kind-hearted and generous sponsors who purchase and wrap gifts and drop them off at our distribution center.
The Salvation Army Toy Shop distributes thousands of books, toys, dolls, stuffed bears and more for children in need. Toys are made possible from our friends and partners at The U.S. Marines Reserve through the generosity of the annual Marines' Toys for Tots program and by financial contributions to The Salvation Army which allow us to purchase additional toys for the program.
Books, dolls and stuffed bears are provided byThe Salvation Army's Toy Shop Auxiliary through their annual Charity Doll Auction and countless volunteer hours. Through these efforts, and the generosity of many donors, toys, dolls, stuffed bears and books are made available to low-income children up to age 13.
Participation in Toy Shop is completed via an on-site registration process, generally held in late October each year. Parents or guardians wishing to register an age-appropriate child (or children) need to register at one of the area Salvation Army facilities. Once registration details are finalized for any given year, they will appear at the top of this page.
Each year, hundreds of gift baskets are distributed to families that might not otherwise have a great meal for Christmas. The Salvation Army relies upon the generosity of local donors to supply the contents for these bountiful gift baskets, as well as financial contributions providing the means to purchase items for the baskets.
