The Toy Shop Auxiliary was started in 1956 to support and assist The Salvation Army with its toy distribution efforts at Christmas. The auxiliary helps furnish dolls and books to the parents of under-privileged children.
The Toy Shop Auxiliary purchases a large number of dolls that are dressed by its members and volunteers. A few years ago it was decided to also focus on books. Since then, the Toy Shop Auxiliary has distributed thousands of books to the sponsored families at Christmas, at no cost to the families or The Salvation Army!
The major fundraiser is the Annual Toy Shop Doll Auction & Fundraiser, which is held in November and is open to the public. The event includes both a silent and live auction of dolls, and a display of all the dolls to be used at the Toy Shop. The sale of the dolls via the auctions at the event provides the funds to purchase the dolls and books for distribution to the children the following year.

DOLL OUTFITS & QUILTS
It takes many volunteers and many hours of sacrifice and love to make all the doll outfits and quilts that are given away each year by the Toy Shop Auxiliary. The Salvation Army is very grateful to all those who volunteer their time, talent and treasures to benefit the little girls that receive the dolls and quilts each year at Christmastime. Without their help -- YOUR help -- this ministry of outreach simply wouldn't happen.
