Programs and Services

Each Salvation Army Corps offers Family Services, Youth Development Programs, Housing Services,
Emergency Disaster Relief Services.  Below are some additional programs that are offered through the Newport Corps.

- Emergency Assistance

The following programs are offered to Campbell County residents who are in need of emergency assistance.

- After School Program

A structured program that provides tutoring, conflict resolution, Christian education and recreation free to enrolled students in grades K-6.
Student transportation from the local schools is provided for students in grades K-5. Staff connects with students in their schools on a
weekly basis. 

- Boy Scouts & Sunbeams 
A program for boys (Boy Scouts) and girls (Sunbeams) where students have the opportunity to earn emblems in the areas of sports and
athletics, health and safety, outdoor living, arts and crafts, the Bible and The Salvation Army, the world around us, science and technology
and family and culture.

- Junior Music
A music program for youth to learn how to play different types of beginning instruments including bucket drumming & recorders.

- Junior Band
A music program for youth in grades 4-6 to receive weekly instruction to play a brass instrument.

- Worship Tech
An opportunity for teens to learn skills and techniques in videography, photography and live audio. Teens put their education to practice
by creating commercials and announcements and managing sound equipment for worship services.

- Summer Day Camp
A locally-based structured summer day camp for youth in grades 1 - 6. Day campers participate in field trips, educational activities,
recreation and Christian worship.
