The Red Kettle Society has been created as a means to allow its members the opportunity to help The Piqua Salvation Army meet the needs of our community. The Society is different from the Red Kettle Campaign typically launched only during the holiday season. A minimum annual contribution of $1000 is required to become a member of the Red Kettle Society and the benefits for members are many.
Besides helping countless families in our community, members are removed from all mailing lists and receive no mailings as long as they remain members. They will also have their names printed in our Christmas Report sent to the Piqua Daily Call, and posted on our web site. Members' names will also be displayed at all Salvation Army events and fundraisers throughout the year, and they will be honored with an annual celebration.
The Salvation Army is the only social service agency for Piqua and only one of two for Northern Miami County. They reach out to families in Covington, Bradford, Conover, Lena, and many other small villages in northern Miami County. We have seen the numbers of families needing help increased greatly in the past three years.
The Salvation Army remains financially strong and ready to meet these challenges with the help of its community. It offers several options for annual membership donations to The Red Kettle Society. Individuals may begin their membership in The Society by donating the minimum $1,000 all at one time, or donating a portion, with a pledge for the remaining amount in three or four payments.
