1. Red Kettle Pedal
September 23, 3PM
The Red Kettle Pedal is a family friendly, leisurely bike ride that will take place on Sunday, September 23rd at 3:00 p.m. The pedal begins at Springfield High School, travels the bike path and ends at the Heritage Center. No roads will be utilized during this 5 mile (round trip) pedal. All participants must be 6 years of age or older, wear helmets and be able to skillfully ride on the bike path for the ride's duration.
Last year, only 1 out of every 4 children who asked for a bike actually received one. That's where YOU come in. Each participant will raise a minimum of $75. This can be done by donating the monies personally or by wrangling up sponsors. You can get creative with this! The more bikes we are able to purchase, the more happy kids we'll have this Christmas!
Your checks and cash will ride with you during the Red Kettle Pedal. Upon your arrival at the Heritage Center, you will be directed to the designated donation drop-off spot.
Our hope is that you help us spread the word and make this pedal as big as possible...for the sake of the kids in this incredible community! This ride will serve as a statement to the children in this city that they matter and prove to be a powerful display of love...with no strings attached. Join the others that represent all that is right with Springfield for our 1st ever Red Kettle Pedal!
If you are unable to participate in the actual ride itself, but would like to contribute financially, you can do so by clicking on this link: give.salvationarmy.org/redkettlepedal
