THE SALVATION ARMY'S ABILITY TO FULFILL THE NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY RELIES HEAVILY ON INDIVIDUALS JUST LIKE YOU.  We welcome your interest in becoming a volunteer. Please join us in our mission to do the most good.

There are many opportunities to help The Salvation Army Springfield Corps serve those in the community.  As a general guideline, please use the following to direct your contacts for volunteer opportunities in Springfield.

Sonshine Club: Keeping Children First

Many social critics say that today's children face more serious challenges than any other previous generation. Most agree that violence in schools, deteriorating family structure, substance abuse, alarming media images and gang activity put children at-risk.  There is a bright light out of all this. The Salvation Army has the opportunity to reach out to these children not just at The Salvation Army Corps but at their schools. We seek to address these needs as a vital part of every child's success for a positive life of HOPE, LOVE and PEACE.

One hour per week or as much as you can give of your time will change a life now and a city for generations to come.

For more information please contact JaLynn Stowers at 937-322-3434 ext 306 or jalynn.stowers@use.salvationarmy.org

Red Kettle Campaign

Each year, before Christmas, the familiar Salvation Army red kettles reappear at area retailers, such as Kroger and Wal-Mart, to address the important work of collecting funds that allows The Salvation Army to serve those in need within the community.

And each year, volunteers are needed to provide the face of The Salvation Army to the community, serving some period of hours at a Red Kettle.  The amount of time spent is at your discretion, depending upon your availability and willingness to help.
