Cincinnati, OH (August 19, 2015) The Salvation Army today announced it has received a $500,000 grant from an anonymous local couple who wish to “help The Salvation Army continue to serve the local community in the coming years.” The funds will increase The Salvation Army’s ability to help children and adults, individuals and families, and build infrastructure to meet future needs.

“This is a tremendous gift to support our ongoing work for those most in need,” stated Major Larry Ashcraft. “Every day we work here to meet human needs through programs reaching those of all ages. This generous gift will ensure that we can continue to help in the future.”

“Over the past year The Salvation Army served in meaningful ways approximately 60,000 people in Greater Cincinnati. This was only possible with the support of donors like these, whose vision for a better future aligns with our work,” stated Susan Hall, The Salvation Army’s local grants manager. “Their gift adds to the support we’ve received from generous area residents for 130 years as our programs have evolved to meet community needs.”
