"Were not our hearts burning . . .? (Luke 24:32
Dear
brethren:
With a greet full of feelings I want to give you this first
Pastoral Letter. In this first five years serving God in the Salvation Army,
we have known ourselves; we have been finding many communities and people that
have been motive of great joy. I want this letter received as an invitation to
involve us together to give the best of us towards this new pastoral
project.
The presence of the Lord make our hearts burn; as a part of the
universal Christian church we are initiating a new time. We should not lose our
focus that we are ONE ARMY, ONE MISSION, and ONE MESSAGE.
Hamilton Corps
needs a strong shake and keep the eyes put in God.
With only three words I
would like to define this road that with much illusion I would like to invite
the whole Christian community of Hamilton to walk: REVIEW, REFIND, and REFOCUS.
Review with grateful heart the road that God's children have walked,
acknowledging the good and the bad. This will be the departing point, when we
recognize that Jesus Christ is the lord we reencounter with Him, with His
presence that comfort us, consolidate us and encourage us to re-focus our life
to give a better service, remember that all Salvationist port two "S" that
means: SAVED to SERVE
Salvationist brethren I want us to be inspired in
Emmaus road. To the discourage disheartened disciples, the Lord himself appears
on the road, He gets close to them, talk to them, confront them with their
reality, but overall He encourage them. As a Christian church, as messenger of
Christ I invite you to get of Emmaus that is sign of routine, tiredness, lack
of creativity and joy.
This road that we are starting with confidence in
the Lord, allow us to refocus all our activity and our compromise in this time,
I invite you to come back to our first love, which fill us of joy and
strengthen us to be bearers of the Salvation Good News.
Be all the
blessings from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ upon each one of you.
