Cincinnati, OH (July 24, 2015) – The Salvation Army today announced that its Catherine Booth Residence was approved as a Green Communities certified development by Enterprise Community Partners, Inc. The Catherine Booth Residence, which opened December 2014, features 96 well-appointed apartment units for low-income seniors. The residence provides a greatly-needed housing option for an aging population. The facility has been well received in the community, and will reach 100% occupation early in August.
“We’re delighted to have the Catherine Booth Residence recognized in this manner,” stated Major Larry Ashcraft, Divisional Commander at The Salvation Army. “We’re committed to serving low-income seniors, providing housing options that exceed expectations.”
“Enterprise Green Communities certification demonstrates (the) organization’s commitment to providing high performance, healthy homes for low-income families,” stated Krista Egger, Senior Program Director, Green Communities at Enterprise Community Partners, Inc.
In addition to the certification as a Green Communities certified development, individual apartments in the Catherine Booth Residence have earned Energy Star Certification under the Energy Star for New Homes program.

In helping us achieve these certifications, we’re grateful to ATA/Beilharz Architects, Turner Construction and all those who played a part in funding, designing and building the beautiful Catherine Booth Residence.”
