Encourages Everyone to "Save the Date" for Saturday, November 14th

Cincinnati, OH (August 18, 2015) – The Salvation Army Toy Shop Auxiliary today announced its Annual Fundraiser & Doll Auction will be held on Saturday, November 14th, 2015.  The 59th annual event will feature both silent and live auctions, a gift boutique, and delicious refreshments. The fundraising event will be held at the Armstrong Chapel, 5125 Drake Rd. in Indian Hill.  The doors open at 11 am, when guests can begin bidding on silent auction items, shop the boutique and enjoy the refreshments being served; the live auction commences at 12:45 pm.  The event is free and open to the public, with plenty of free parking available.

“Our annual fundraiser is a wonderful opportunity to browse and shop,” stated Phyllis Poeppelmeier, president of The Salvation Army Toy Shop Auxiliary. “The members of the Auxiliary work very hard to ensure that our guests have great items on which to bid. I encourage everyone to mark the event on their calendars – it will be another great event, and it benefits the children this Christmas.”

Guests will enjoy homemade cookies, coffee and tea, along with other delicious treats, courtesy of the Toy Shop Auxiliary.  The event will feature a display of hundreds of beautifully dressed dolls, some of which will be auctioned, as well as gift baskets, boutique items, stuffed bears and much more.  “It’s a wonderful opportunity to shop for Christmas,” stated Margaret Steinmann, who heads publicity for the Toy Shop Auxiliary’s annual fundraiser. Adding to the festive atmosphere of the event, The Salvation Army will have a traditional brass ensemble on-hand playing Christmas favorites.

“We’re so grateful to the Toy Shop Auxiliary for their support,” stated Major Janet Ashcraft, Divisional Director of Women’s Ministries at The Salvation Army.  “We really enjoy this event, and love how the dedication of the Auxiliary members provides a more joyful Christmas for thousands of local children.”  Each Christmas, the Toy Shop Auxiliary distributes thousands of books, hundreds of dolls and stuffed bears to underprivileged children in the local community.
