The Salvation Army Receives $10,000 from The Ralph A. Cushman Memorial Endowment Fund of the Cambridge Charitable Foundation

Funds Will Provide Support for The Salvation Army's Youth Development Programs

Cincinnati, OH (November 18, 2014) – The Salvation Army today announced that it received a $10,000 grant from The Ralph A. Cushman Memorial Endowment Fund of the Cambridge Charitable Foundation. The funds will provide support for The Salvation Army’s Youth Development programs, which provide opportunities for youth to receive mentoring and tutoring, and focus on social and educational skill development.

“We are delighted to receive this financial support from the Cushman Memorial Endowment Fund,” said Major Larry Ashcraft, Divisional Commander at The Salvation Army. “Youth development has long been at the core of the work The Salvation Army is undertaking every day.  Our goal is to impact the lives of youth in a meaningful way, seeking to enhance their opportunities and improve their outcomes.  Our entire community benefits when children are nurtured, tutored, provided with skill development opportunities, and shown they are loved.”

Each year, The Salvation Army serves hundreds of children at youth programs offered at each of its Community Centers. There are six (6) such centers operating across Greater Cincinnati, and each provides a safe place for children to go after school, and during the summer, for continuing education, skill development, meals and encouragement.
