Funds will Provide Support for The Salvation Army Learning Center for Youth
Cincinnati, OH (October 20, 2014) – The Salvation Army today announced that it received $10,000 from The Andrew Jergens Foundation. The funds will provide support for The Salvation Army’s Learning Center, a west-side facility that serves children ages 6 months to 12 years. The facility serves Price Hill and adjacent communities.
“We are delighted to receive this financial support from The Andrew Jergens Foundation,” said Todd Levering, director of The Salvation Army Learning Center. “These funds allow us to continue with the great programs we provide to the children in our local community. In turn, this helps them to build life skills and achieve academic success.”
“The work of The Salvation Army Learning Center is consistent with our focus on the health, education and social welfare of children in the Greater Cincinnati area,” stated Jim Huizenga, Senior Program Officer for The Andrew Jergens Foundation. “For more than 50 years, The Andrew Jergens Foundation has supported many efforts to benefit less-fortunate children in our local community. This grant to The Salvation Army Learning Center aligns well with the Foundation’s core priorities.”
