Cincinnati, OH (November 4, 2015) – The Salvation Army in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky today announced that its 2015 Kettle Campaign will kick off at Paul Brown Stadium in conjunction with the Browns-Bengals game, Thursday, November 5th. The iconic red kettles and bell ringers will be present all around the stadium plaza level, collecting donations from football fans as they enter the game. The kettles will be in place starting at 6:30 pm until the kick-off at 8:30 pm. The gates at Paul Brown Stadium open at 7:00 pm.
“We greatly appreciate our long-standing partnership with the Bengals, and the opportunity to kick off the Kettle Campaign at the game,” stated Major Larry Ashcraft, Divisional Commander at The Salvation Army. “This marks our 12th year having a special collection with the Bengals, and we’re eager to engage with the fans on Thursday night. I’m challenging every fan to bring a couple of dollars to throw in the kettles pre-game – it’s a great way to give back and help out a neighbor in need at Christmas.”
The Salvation Army’s annual Kettle Campaign is a major fundraiser for the organization, as it works to provide social services, emergency assistance, toys at Christmas and other greatly-needed services throughout the year. The campaign will get into high gear mid-November, as the kettles show up in Kroger stores, and additional retail stores join the campaign after Thanksgiving. Kettles and bell-ringers are in the stores seeking donations six days a week, generally 10 am to 8 pm daily. The final day of the campaign is Wednesday, December 24th.
Those interested in supporting the campaign are encouraged to contribute whenever they see the familiar red kettles. Those not able to visit a kettle can donate online at www.onlineredkettle.org, or www.salvationarmycincinnati.org, by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY or by sending a check to “The Salvation Army” at 114 E. Central Parkway, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
