Funds Support Emergency Assistance and Youth Development for Local Families

Cincinnati, OH (June 2, 2014) – The Salvation Army today announced that it received $25,000 from The Patricia Kisker Foundation, Fifth Third Bank, Agent. The funds provide support for Emergency Assistance and Youth Development programs offered locally by The Salvation Army.

“We’re delighted to receive this support from The Patricia Kisker Foundation,” stated Major Larry Ashcraft, Divisional Commander at The Salvation Army. “Many families are in need of support with their basic necessities, and The Salvation Army is able to meet their need through the help of generous supporters.  As well, we have a long heritage of work with youth in the communities in which we serve, and we’re grateful that The Patricia Kisker Foundation shares our vision for youth development.”

The Salvation Army provided Emergency Assistance to more than 20,000 individuals across Greater Cincinnati last year.  Those services include food, clothing, rent and support with utilities.

Locally, hundreds of children participated in After-school and Summer Enrichment programs offered by The Salvation Army through its six (6) Community Centers across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.  The children participated in crafts, sports, recreation, mentoring, computer and relationship skills development and much more.
