The Salvation Army in Greater Cincinnati Receives $10,000 from Macy's

Funds Will Support The Salvation Army's Emergency Assistance Efforts in the Local Community

Cincinnati, OH (June 10, 2014) – The Salvation Army today announced that it received $10,000 from Macy’s. The funds provide support for The Salvation Army’s Emergency Assistance program, which provides rent, utilities, food, clothing and transportation tokens for those in need in the local community.  Just in the past year, The Salvation Army in Greater Cincinnati provided Emergency Assistance support to more than 20,000 individuals.

“These services are a great benefit to those most in need in our local community,” stated Major Larry Ashcraft, Divisional Commander at The Salvation Army.  “And that’s why we’re deeply grateful to Macy’s for their continued support of our local program.  We can only fulfill our mission when generous supporters step forward to walk alongside us.”

“Once again, we are deeply grateful for the generous response we received from Macy’s,” added Matt Pearce, Development Director at The Salvation Army.  “We have had a long-standing relationship with Macy’s that we value dearly, and appreciate their vision for community development through programs such as this.”
