The Salvation Army in Greater Cincinnati Receives $10,000 Donation from Macy's

Funds will Support Emergency Assistance Efforts in the Local Community

Cincinnati, OH (April 28, 2015) – The Salvation Army today announced that it received $10,000 from Macy’s. The funds provide support for The Salvation Army’s Emergency Assistance program, which provides rent, food, and transportation tokens for those in need in the local community.  Just in the past year, The Salvation Army in Greater Cincinnati provided Emergency Assistance support to more than 23,000 individuals.

“Emergency assistance is a great benefit to those most in need in our local community,” stated Major Larry Ashcraft, Divisional Commander at The Salvation Army.  “Thus, we’re deeply grateful to Macy’s for their continued support of our local assistance program.  We can only fulfill our mission when generous supporters like Macy’s help make it a reality.”

“Once again, we are deeply grateful for the generous response we received from Macy’s,” added Sarah Wagner, Director of Social Ministries at The Salvation Army.  “Long-standing support from partners like Macy’s ensures, year after year, that those who need assistance in our local community receive it.”
