Cincinnati, OH (March 26, 2014) – The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) in Norwood announced today that it will open a fifth Family Thrift Store, with the new store located in Delhi. The Grand Opening for the Delhi store will be Saturday, March 29th, with the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:00 am. The Grand Opening event will feature FREE hot dogs and coffee, as well as a FREE GIFT to the first 100 shoppers. There will also be prize drawings for Bengals and Reds merchandise and other exciting offerings each day through April 5, 2014.
“We’re excited to open yet another new store in the Greater Cincinnati market,” stated Major Nancy Beauchamp, administrator for the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Norwood, including the agency’s regional Thrift Store operations. “This is our second new store in less than 18 months in Greater Cincinnati. We have an important mission to fulfill with the men we serve at the ARC, and all of our funding comes through these wonderful thrift stores. We’re so grateful to those who donate to the stores, as well as those who come to shop.”
The new 16,000 square foot store will offer customers a wonderful shopping experience with bargain-priced clothing, household items, electronics, books, toys, furniture and collectables. Budget-conscious shoppers will appreciate the store’s everyday low prices and even deeper “Family Day” discounts every Wednesday.
The new store will bring more than 20 jobs to the area. It will also make it possible for The Salvation Army to provide better assistance for men in the community who are struggling with alcohol, drugs and other life issues, as revenues from the store support the agency’s Adult Rehabilitation Center, located in Norwood. Sales from the Family Thrift Stores (in Norwood, Eastgate, Lexington, West Chester, and now Delhi) are the sole source of funding. Families in need also may receive vouchers to the store for furniture or clothing through The Salvation Army’s local social services programs.
The new store in Delhi is located at 5048 Delhi Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45238, adjacent to Kroger. The Grand Opening festivities will start with a ribbon cutting at 9:00 am on Saturday, March 29th. Opening Day shoppers will enjoy FREE coffee and hot dogs, and the first 100 shoppers will receive a complimentary ‘goody bag’ with gifts. They will also be able to register for a FREE drawing to win a 32” Flat screen TV, a “#58 Maualuga” Bengals jersey and many more prizes. Each of the first seven (7) days the store is open, there will be daily drawings for items that include Bengals and Reds merchandise and other great prizes. Shoppers will want to visit every day to see what’s new and sign up for daily drawings.
The Salvation Army Family Thrift Stores operate from donations of clothing and household items from local generous donors. Tax receipts are provided on-the-spot for any donations received during store hours (Monday-Saturday, 9 am to 9 pm). After-hours clothing donations can be dropped in the bins located at the front of the store, as well as bins located in Kroger store parking lots throughout the city. For those requesting an at-home pick-up of donated goods, please call 1-800-SA-TRUCK to schedule a pick-up.
